I would highly recommend adding the Shaken Style to whatever pho you get.
The shaken style pho is so unique and so rich in flavor that I could probably identify it with my eyes closed. If you've never been to Súp Noodle Bar, it's definitely a life altering experience. "Shaken, not stirred" - James Bond during his visit to Súp Noodle Bar I should have listened to some of the other reviewers regarding the shrimp tacos and driven the extra distance to the fish grill. So, if you go, definitely don’t waste your money on the shrimp tacos. The ONLY reason I would ever consider going back would be to try some of their more exotic dishes I wouldn’t find anywhere else. Plus, I can get 2 super tasty, filling, large shrimp tacos at The Fish Grill for under $10. The cashier said everything’s gone up, especially seafood, however, that has not been my experience and I only eat seafood, vegetables and fruit. The shrimp were tiny and hard, ridiculously overcooked. $20 for 3 regular size tacos? Then, I thought because of all the LA Weekly write ups on the wall and the nice ambiance they would have HUGE shrimp and be the best tacos I’ve ever had, however, that was not the case. I should have asked how much an order of shrimp tacos would be when I called in my order, but I didn’t. Moral of the story, don't come here Saturday for lunch, go during the week. If it were up to me I'd probably never go back but if I do it will be during the week because this food really sucked. It seems the dining experience is completely different when he's not there. They normally eat there during the week when a nice gentleman (owner?) is working up front. Even my dad commented on how flavorless the food was compared to his previous visits - which he described to me as "wonderful ". Look at the pictures and you can see how plain everything looks. The rice and beans weren't any better and were mediocre at best. I couldn't see any seasoning on the shrimp which isn't good, shrimp needs seasoning. They had no flavor, and I mean ZERO flavor. I dug into my shrimp taco and was prepared for greatness, sadly when I tasted them I was completely underwhelmed. Then the food came and things went all kinds of wrong. The help was very friendly, they have nice patio seating, the place was very clean and nicely decorated with a fresh salsa bar.so far so good!
We ordered the shrimp tacos that they had told me were so delicious and I was really looking forward to it. I heard great things about this place from my parents and was looking forward to some great food, boy was I disappointed.
